The Bushkill Twp. Vol. Fire Co. is always looking for able and active-minded individuals to join the ranks of our agency. We take pride in the diverse community we have built within the firehouse over the past 60+ years of service, and are always interested in accepting new members. The fire company has numerous positions that allows its membership to build on their strengths and interests. Whether it is participating in emergency response, administrative responsibilities, or simply helping out at our numerous fundraising events. There is always a place for everyone and all are welcome. Your addition to our company will help further create a better firehouse, and in turn a better community!
Within the Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company, we have several forms of membership including:
Emergency Response Personnel (ERP) - ERPs are Bushkill Twp.’s first responders being firefighters, fire police, EMS personnel, and rescue workers. This group responds to all calls for service within the township and beyond. You must be at least 18 years old; all training and equipment are provided free of charge.
Junior ERP - Junior ERPs are our first responders who are under the age of 18. They cannot participate in active fire suppression or rescue operations, but act in a supporting role. These members are some of our most important as they are the future of our fire company. Junior ERPs must be at least 14 years old, and all training and equipment are provided.
Social Members - Social Members are those who wish to aid the fire company at its various fundraising events or in administrative roles, but do not desire to participate in emergency response. All social members must be at least 18 years old.
Auxiliary - Auxiliary members do not participate in active fire suppression or rescue operations, but serve in a supporting role by assisting in rehabilitation at emergency scenes. They also support the fire company by hosting their own fundraising events. All auxiliary members must be at least 18 years old.
The first step on the path of becoming a member of the fire company is to take and complete one of our membership applications. Our application goes into further detail on requirements for membership and the process of being accepted.
