The Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1959 by the realization of the need for fire, rescue & medical services. A group of dedicated citizens became our founding members, deciding it was time to create a volunteer fire & EMS company & raised the funds to purchase the first fire truck, ambulance & building by mortgaging off their homes. We currently consist of four divisions: Fire, EMS, Fire Police, & Ladies Auxiliary. The fire company, ladies auxiliary, & fire police are operated by volunteers, covering the 25.3 square mile rural township & its population of approximately 9,000 residents. We provide structure, vehicle, & wildfire suppression, search & rescue, rough terrain & motor vehicle rescue, basic & advanced life support. The fire company, including fire/rescue & EMS, also provide mutual aid services to surrounding communities when requested.
As we enter 2024 the fire company will celebrate its 65th year of service to the Bushkill community. This would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers & the public who provide support by participating in our bingo, breakfasts, annual carnival & direct donations.
Township residents are encouraged to volunteer with the Fire Company, as well as to support fundraising activities that include:
- Weekly BINGO
- Annual Carnival

Please help support our organization with our permanent used clothing and accessories drive. The items we accept and do not accept are listed on the bin and on the flyer found on our home page. The donations go to thrift stores and 3rd world countries for people who may not be able to afford clothing and accessories. Your donations help us as we get a payment from TurnKey Enterprises based on the amount of goods donated each month.
